Yung Joc
Yung Joc, (aka Young Joc), was born on April 2, 1983 in
Atlanta, Georgia, real name Jasiel Robinson. His school years consisted
of fighting and getting kicked out of classes, due in part to his smart
mouth, ultimately leading to jail time. Determined to overcome an
inevitable skid, he found his inspiration from artists: LL Cool J,
Ice-T, and Run DMC, then later Outkast, 2Pac, and B.I.G. He made his
mark at the famous Royal Peacock where Ray Charles and other notables
had performed, and was conquering the audiences with his soul-stirring
rhythms and rhymes. Block Entertainment caught the show and snapped him
up before anybody else could. The song that vaulted him to success was,
"It's Goin' Down," that had been produced by So So Def Records. It was
the lead single on album "New Joc City" and reached the top five hits in
the USA.
Yung Joc is a fast rising sensation of Bad Boy South, and has since
become president of his own record label, along with friend Chino
Dollar, called Mastermind Music. He has begun to collaborate with
well-known artists, including a feature spot on "Show Stopper" by Danity
Kane, from P. Diddy's "Making the Band 3." Expect bigger and bigger
creations from this emerging artist.
