Bow Wow - Evolving Artist

  Bow Wow Lil Bow Wow

Lil Bow Wow became just plain Bow Wow as he grew up. He started out in Reynoldsburg, essentially Cleveland. He was born Shad Moss on the 9th of March, 1987. He started rapping at an early age, and had his first album 13 years later. Of course he needed a handle, and Snoop Dogg came up with "Lil' Bow Wow." There were other kid rappers around, including Da Brat and Kriss Kross, so the novelty value was minimal.

It basically came down to style, and Bow Wow was long in that category. Jermaine Dupri of Atlanta-based record label, So So Def, wrote and produced the majority of the debut album which came out in 2000. "Beware the Dog" came with an in-built success in the form of a breathrough single, "Bounce With Me," that ultimately became a summer anthem. Follow-up singles were equally successful including "That's My Name," which featured Snoop Dogg, and "Ghetto Girls." Bow Wow went on to Hollywood to star in a kid movie, "Like Mike" (2002) and to release follow-up albums and singles. 15hqqh.
